A trip that offers the opportunity to travel part of the Peruvian coast and navigate the Pacific Ocean, enjoy the immense dunes of the Ica desert and spend a night in an oasis (La Huacachina). We will fly over the enigmatic Nazca lines. Then we will leave the Peruvian coast flying towards the mountains and landing in the white city of Arequipa. This colonial city is surrounded by three huge volcanoes and its constructions are made of a volcanic stone (Sillar). The guided tour that we will have in this city is fantastic. Another fantastic place that we will visit is The Colca Canyon which is one of the deepest canyons in the world and home of the biggest flying bird in the world, the condor. On our way to this marvelous canyon we will observe the South American camelids. Then the ancient capital of the Inca’s empire, “Cusco”, and the Sacred Valley of the Incas will be the perfect prelude to our last stop: “Machu Picchu”

Today we will be taking our flight to Peru. At the Lima airport our tour conductor will be waiting for us to accompany us throughout the trip. In the transfer to the hotel, located in the district of Miraflores, we will get information about the tour.

After a well-deserved rest from the long trip we will visit the city of Lima, previously called the City of Los Reyes. We will start in the historic and colonial center visiting the cathedral and the main square. Then we will immerse ourselves in the San Francisco catacombs, visit modern Lima and in the afternoon we will have lunch. Later in the afternoon we will take our transport to Paracas where we will be arriving at night.

After breakfast we will go to the pier of Chaco to embark on motor boats that will take us to the Ballesta Islands, known for their abundant fauna. On the way back to land we will enter the Paracas National Reserve where we can appreciate unique landscapes of the desertic coast. We will arrive at the area called Lagunillas, a picturesque place that forms a bay. We will have lunch (seafood)  in front of an artisanal fishermen’s pier. Then, we will continue our trip going by bus to the oasis of Huacachina. In the middle of gigantic dunes we will take a ride on a buggy and we will also have the opportunity to do sandboarding which is an activity that consists of the descent of dunes or sand hills with special boards similar to the ones used in Snowboarding. We will spend the night in the oasis.

In the morning we will transfer to the city of Nazca. On the way, shortly before reaching the mentioned city we will stop to climb an observation tower; from here you can see one of the figures that are at the foot of it. Then, in the afternoon we will take a 40 minutes flight in which we will admire the famous Nazca lines from above. Once we finish observing these gigantic figures we will go to our hotel to enjoy a fantastic dinner.

We will leave Nazca early in the morning and go directly to the Jorge Chavez airport in lima to take our flight to the white city of Arequipa. This flight lasts one hour and twenty minutes. When we get to Arequipa we will be transferred to our hotel that is located a few blocks from the main square of this city.

Arequipa is called the white city because all its colonial buildings are made of a white volcanic stone called Sillar. On a guided tour we will walk through the streets of Santa Catalina that was a convent of cloister nuns that opened its doors in the 19th century. We will also visit the picturesque Plaza de Armas (Main Square) with its majestic cathedral, the colorful San Camilo Market that is located in the center of the city, the famous viewpoints of Yanahuara and Carmen Alto where we will have an attractive view towards the Chili River valley and the three volcanoes that adorn the city. One of these volcanoes, the Misti (lord in Quechua), is active. It is because of this volcano that the people from Arequipa are also called Mistianos. We will end our visit with a typical lunch of the region. In the afternoon we will have free time to continue watching this beautiful city.

Today we will have a fantastic bus trip full of Andean landscapes. We will leave the city of Arequipa early in the morning and travel towards one of the deepest canyons in the world. The Colca Canyon is approximately 4,160 meters deep and 200 km long. On the way we will visit Aguada Blanca and the Salinas National Reserve that is behind the Chachani volcano. We will see different camelids such as Llamas, Alpacas and Vicuñas.  According to connoisseurs Vicuñas have the finest fiber that exists. Behind the volcanoes we will stop along the way to taste the famous Coca mate that will help us acclimatize to the altitude. Following the route we will arrive at the Patapampa viewpoint that is at an approximate height of 4,900 meters above sea level. From here we will begin our descent until we reach the town of Chivay which is at 3,635 meters above the sea level. Then we will have a fantastic lunch in this town and after it we will go to our hotel, which is at the foot of the canyon, to enjoy its hot springs.

Early in the morning we will go to the Cruz del Cóndor (the cross of the Condor) viewpoint. At this strategic place we will see the flight of the biggest flying bird in the world, the Condor. Hopefully these birds will fly over our heads at very low altitude so that we can take pictures of them at close range. Then, we will return to the airport of Arequipa to take the flight to the city of Cusco where we will be arriving at night.

Rested from the long journey of the previous day we will begin our guided tour of the city. We will walk through the typical streets of Cusco. We will look at the famous stone of the 12 angles that cannot be missed in a visit to this city. We will visit among other attractions the Qoricancha ”that was the main religious, geographical and political center of Cusco. The temple of Qoricancha, was the place where the highest Inca god, the INTI (Sun), was worshipped. Then we will visit the cathedral and the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, famous for its huge stones embedded exactly between them. This city offers many varieties of urban colonial landscapes in addition to having been the capital of the Inca’s empire.

We will depart today to the Urubamba or Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the way we will visit a factory of alpaca fabric and then arrive in Pisac, an archeological center that stands out for its impressive terraces. Next to the Vilcanota River we will continue our trip through the valley observing colorful landscapes. On the way we will stop at a country restaurant that is located on the banks of the river. Depending on how we go with time we will visit Ollantaytambo or leave it for the next day before taking the train to Machu Picchu.

A day full of emotions awaits us. At Ollantaytambo station we will take the train that will take us through breathtaking landscapes to the town of Aguas Calientes. On the way we can realize how the climatic zone is changing since we will be going down from the Andes to the high jungle. Once in the town, we will board a bus that will take us to the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu. Together with our guide, we will visit the different areas it has (it lasts approximately 2 hours). Once the guided tour is over, we will have some time to explore Machu Picchu on our own. At the time agreed with our guide we will meet at the train station to take the road back to the city of Cusco.
